How to Easily Save On Your Adwords Budget

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

The budget is where so many advertisers fail. So many users new to Adwords and Pay Per Click quickly Supplements To Combat Bacterial Overgrowth their budget eaten up and dismiss the whole Adwords system as expensive and not for them. When in truth if they understood the system better and made a few small changes they would see their campaigns improve and their budget drop.

You could be haemorrhaging cash without even knowing it.

There is a very simple change you can make that will have an almost immediate effect on your pay per click budget. This could save you a fortune - Do you advertise on the Adwords ‘content network’? Do you even know what this is? You can find it in ‘Edit Campaign Settings’ more in a second on how to find it.

The content network will see your ad appear right across the Internet on sites related to your chosen keywords via Google’s Adsense program.

The problem is that in most cases there’s a huge difference between your ad on the search results page and your ad on someone else??s site. The difference is in the state of mind of the person that will see your ad. A person seeing your ad in Google’s search results is proactively looking for what you’re offering, at least if you’ve got your keywords right, they’ve just done a search and your ad came up. When they click Pillow Top Firm Mattresses much more likely to buy or complete an action on your site.

Somebody coming across your ad whilst ‘browsing’ the Net, and that’s the key difference ‘browsing’, is much less likely to complete the desired action. Since they Gallbladder Diet not proactively seeking out what you offer but have casually come across your ad as they surf the Net. Their response will be much poorer.

I suggest you immediately turn off the option to appear on the content network. It’s very easy to do from the ‘All Campaigns’ page select a campaign by checking the relevant box next to it. Once selected click the ‘Edit Settings’ button at the very top of all your campaigns. This will open the ‘Edit Campaign Settings’ page now simply uncheck the checkbox for ‘content network’ found in your campaign settings at the top right under ‘Where to show my Ads’.

Why you shouldn’t let Google optimize your Ads.

While you are in ‘Edit Campaign Settings’ at the bottom left uncheck ?Automatically optimize ad serving for my ads??. Google may show one ad more than another based on it??s CTR(Click Through Rate). BUT your lesser shown ad could have better ROI(Return On Investment) and bring in more sales. Google could be strangling your business right there. Unchecking this will also allow you to ’split’ test ads accurately as a couple of ads run side by side will be served equally.

How to set your daily pay per click budgets.

Start with a high per click bid and get your ad shown the maximum number of times. This will build your CTR and you can then gradually lower your click bid without effecting your position. Google rewards good CTR by better positioning a good performing ad. You may want to spend less to begin with but a better attitude is to spend smarter.

Successful advertisers typically turn the daily budget up to the ??max? in their campaign settings area, based on Google??s suggested daily maximum. Cost control is then achieved through pausing poor-performing ads and groups, or lowering bids ?” not by cutting your daily budget. If you??re not appearing on the front page for a search you can??t measure ROI accurately for your keywords. You must pay through the nose to begin with.

But having said that be careful not to appear in the No.1 spot as this can attract the casual clicker. Spots 3-5 are the prime spots. The viewer clicking here has at least considered your ad copy before doing so.

After initial testing if you??ve written a good ad and you’re getting good CTR then you should see your ad hold it??s own when you lower your per click budget.

How to work out your daily spend.

This is important so pay attention. If you have a monthly budget of $600 dividing it by the days in the month 30days you get a $20 daily budget.

Google will not exceed the monthly figure but they will go over the daily budget sometimes.

Don’t under bid

Don??t underbid your Ad group because you??re thinking of your ??maximum bid? as your actual bid. The average cost per click on the group is the figure you should watch.

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

  • Set a daily budget at your minimum profit margin and don’t increase it until you make a sale. Don’t start off with a $200 per day budget if you only get $20 per sale. Instead start with a $20 budget and work your way up.
  • Describe the product or service you’re selling as accurately as possible, this way you will clarify your product’s purpose to the visitors so you can prevent people from clicking on your advertisements who don’t want what you’re selling.
  • If you’re getting too many clicks and no sales, the problem is either with your text advertisement or your keywords. Assuming your keywords are relevant you will need to filter the non-buyers from the buyers with your text advertisement. To do this include the words “buy”, “order”, “purchase”, and/or your product’s price in your text advertisement. This will tell the web surfers that your product costs money and if they are looking for a free product not to click on your ad.

How to Find New Local Market for Your Handmade Jewelry

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

You already know the importance of finding new local markets for your handmade jewelry. Why restrict yourself to fashion boutiques and Perfection Furnace & Carpet Cleaning galleries when there are a variety of less conventional markets for your jewelry?

I visited an out of town location over the weekend. My husband and I stopped at a local coffee shop for some refreshments. While I was waiting for my order, a lady approached me and informed me she hosting a jewelry show in a small room in the back of the coffee shop. Of course, I couldn’t resist taking a look. This lady had setup up several tables of handmade jewelry along with a display. similar to a simple setup you’d see at a craft show. Her jewelry appeared to be well made and was reasonably priced, although not extremely unusual. I asked her how her sales had been that day. She seemed enthusiastic about her sales Nh Des Rims seems that Complications Gastric Bypass of the women browsed her jewelry with their coffee in hand and, ultimately, ended up buying a piece or two to take home.

This is an excellent example of thinking out of the box in terms of outlets for handmade jewelry. Most of us wouldn’t have thought of a coffee shop as being a good market for jewelry, but in this case it was. How many other outlets could there be out there where you could set up a small display and benefit from the store’s traffic? A few that come to mind are bridal stores, natural food co-ops (if you sell natural gemstone jewelry), gardening stores (if you sell jewelry with a nature theme), tea rooms, shoe stores, and other retail outlets that women frequent. Many of these retail outlets would be happy to let you come in and sell your jewelry for the day. You could offer the store a percentage of your sales in exchange for the space .

If you choose to do this, think in terms of offering some jewelry related to the stores theme, if possible. If you’ll be displaying at a gardening store, add some jewelry that uses flower or leaf charms. At a coffee store, use coffee cups and other related charms to pick up the theme. I would also suggest choosing a high traffic day to set up your display such as a Saturday during the holiday buying season. Be sure to have an email sign up book on prominent display so you can potentially market to your new customers in the future. Another idea is to make a coupon for a small percentage off of jewelry purchases from your display and have the owner of the store hand them out to each customer as she pays.

When you go shopping, start looking at each retail outlet that you enter as being a possible market for your handmade jewelry. There are lots of hidden markets out there that can help you grow your jewelry business. mark

Yahoo Reverse Phone Number Can Help You Identify An Unknown Caller

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Did you know that you can use Yahoo reverse The Effects Of Soda On The Stomach number lookup to find out the name and address of an unknown caller whose number may be showing up on your landline or cellular phone’s Caller ID? Finding out who a mystery caller is can be very important, particularly if the unknown caller phones frequently, or is harassing you.

Learning the identity of an unknown caller will help you determine what course of action you should take to make the phone calls stop. For instance, when you perform a Yahoo reverse phone number search, you may discover that the unknown call is a Hydrogen Used In Motorhome Tires who’s Firestone Tahoe Tires a joke on you, or it could be a stranger playing a prank, or a telemarketing company attempting to bypass the law by secretly trying to contact you if you have registered your phone number with the National Do Not Call Registry.

Another bonus when using Yahoo as your search tool is that it is free to seek the personal information linked to the phone number you are looking up. As long as the number you are searching for is not an unlisted landline number, you will receive the name, address, map location, and directions of the individual.

You need to keep in mind, however, that the Yahoo reverse phone number service only includes American landline residential and business phone numbers in their database. Therefore, if the number you are looking for happens to be an international phone number, a wireless number, or is an unlisted landline number, you won’t learn any details about the mystery caller you are attempting to identify.

Remember that while Yahoo reverse phone number is a great service, it is not the only service available. There are plenty of websites online that offer free landline and cellular reverse phone lookups. Therefore, you don’t need to limit your search efforts. Should Yahoo not be able to provide you with the information you are looking for, use other sources such as reverse phone number lookups.

Someone’s Trying To S(m)ell You Something

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

It’s obvious that I love essential oils. I believe in the rejuvenating and healing properties of high quality therapeutic oils. And I love sharing them with other people - personally and professionally.

That Nutritional Needs For Teens mean that I love smells, nor do I want odors to permeate all aspects of my life. I particularly don’t want imposed scents invading my nasal passages without my permission, especially when they are man-made and petrochemically-based, and most scents are. But I, like zillions of others who read newspapers and magazines daily, will be having the experience of surprise scents wafting up from our reading material very soon.

The “smell” industry is coming to get us, and they’re coming fast. Why not? We’re a captive audience with pages that can hold scent right Auto Loan Calulator our nose. What great opportunity for advertising. Well, I’m freaking out. I already have a hard time walking through perfume counters in department stores. And don’t even talk to me about Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I get a headache every time I’m in that place from the “perfume-grade” aromatherapy items that line just about every aisle. My friends don’t understand this about me. They say “how can you feel that way when ‘aromatherapy’ is a main thrust of what you do?”

I remind them “not all aromas are therapeutic”, as a matter of fact most of the identifiable smells we have are man-made and petrochemically based. That is one of the main reasons why I rarely use the word “aromatherapy” to describe what I do. Instead of saying that I do “aromatherapy”, I say that I work with the “use of therapeutic grade essential oils”. There is a huge difference. As a matter of fact, I inhale my therapeutic oils to counteract the effects of these artificial scents.

In the past few years we have seen an increased interest in “smelling-ness” as evidenced by the popularity of “aromatherapy”. Large corporations are sniffing out advertising opportunities that this can offer. In 2006 companies spent $80 million on scent related marketing in 2006. And its only the beginning. Here are some examples:

–Kraft Foods sent a holiday issue with “rub and smell” ads for Jell-O and Chips Ahoy.

–Verizon Wireless had chocolate “scent strips” to promote a mobile phone and music player called Chocolate.

–Diet Pepsi has their ads, coupons, and store signs smelling like their new soft drink’s fruit and vanilla fragrance.

“Scent Marketing” is catching on. Darn. And I was so glad when my invoices from Macy’s and Strawbridges stopped wearing those headache-causing perfumes. Oh well. What does this all mean (besides the consideration of dumping the papers and reading everything online?) Well for me it just means more education is necessary. We need to let people know that there is a difference in an “aromatherapy” marketing venture and the therapeutic use of essential oils for health, healing, and beauty. I hope you join me in that effort.

The Ever Expanding World of Google

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Literally inside of a garage, Google’s humble start in September 1998 Buy Amtico Flooring Direct produced a worldwide heavyweight that is unmatched in its quest to lead the way in internet search. Smaller search engines have been pushed to the side and even Google’s chief competitors — Yahoo and MSN — are becoming bit players. Google’s constant quest for improvement and expansion into other areas of web service has been phenomenal. Now, Google is taking on Paypal with its introduction of Google Checkout as mentioned by me in one of my other blogs.

While some are alarmed by Google’s continuing fast paced growth, the company is proving that if you offer a better product at a lower price [or for free as in the case of so many of its applications including GMail] then the customers will flock to your store. Indeed, that is what Google hopes that you will do: add one more service and give them one more opportunity to show to you what they really want you to see: ads. Yes, Google’s AdWords/AdSense program is so huge that it accounts for virtually all of its revenue. Thus, your using Google Checkout means Google can run ads somewhere, some place in hopes that you will click through and ring up the $$$ that will ultimately find their way into the company’s bottomline.

Ingenious, isn’t it? Japanese Carpet bet. Now if Yahoo and MSN can ever figure out what hit them, we may get some real competition in the mix. Paypal/eBay must be worried, but don’t expect them to stand still either. It gets interesting…

How To Win At Adwords - Pre-Sell, Don’t Sell!

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Winning at adwords is an exact science. It??s a skill to be learned! There are lots of mistakes you can make along the way that stop you from succeeding. To win at adwords, you have to find out what you??re doing wrong and put it right.

One of the most common mistakes adwords marketers make is linking from their ad directly to a sales page. If you want to win at adwords, you need to learn to PRE-sell. Those who do, find there??s an immediate jump in their profits.

What is ??pre-selling? about? This is what it means.

  1. When people click on your ads, don??t let them arrive at the merchant??s sales page. Build a page of your own and link your ad to that. Of course the page you build will contain your affiliate links to the merchant??s sales page.
  2. Use this page to give your visitors a lot more information about the product. Tell them exactly why they should buy the product and what it will do for them.
  3. Make it personal. Help your visitors to feel you see them as real people, not as sales fodder. Imagine what the particular problem, need or desire is that caused them to search on that term in the first place, and establish common ground with them. The stronger the bond you can form with them, the more likely they are to trust you and accept your recommendation.
  4. Be honest. Present both sides of the product or service. Write your copy as if you were giving an honest appraisal or review, not a hard sell. Your customers know perfectly well that no product or service is perfect. They only want to be assured that the benefits TO THEM outweigh any downsides. This way your recommendation will carry so much more weight. If you want to win at adwords, you must be able to establish trust.
  5. Always remember it??s the merchant??s job to sell, not yours. DON??T just reproduce what??s on the sales page. If visitors click on to the sales page and see it all again, it will certainly turn them off! Your job is put them in the mood for buying. Then the sales page will easily be able to close the sale.

You may feel that once someone has clicked on your ad, it??s better to get them to the sales page as soon as possible. But not so. It has been proved over and over again that pre-selling gets better results ?” PROVIDED it??s done properly. If you want to win at adwords, this is one surefire way to do it. So few people have understood this concept that it will put you miles ahead of the competition.

Search Engine Marketing and Blogging Techniques

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Search engines are the web’s most used means of driving traffic to websites, and knowledge of search engine marketing is essential to anybody wanting to succeed online. However knowledge of blogging techniques is also instrumental in gaining you a high position in the search engine listings fore your chosen keyword.

Sure, you can promote your site in many ways and there are more ways than a top listing on a search engine to drive traffic to your website, but there is nothing to beat a top ten listing on Google or one of the other major search engines such as Ask, Yahoo or MSN to provide you with consistent sustained traffic day after day after day.

It is not difficult to get listed in a search engine, but it not so easy to be listed in that all-important top 20 position. The top 10 is the ideal, but if you are listed on one of the first two pages of a major search engine, then the traffic will come to you. That is guaranteed. Naturally, the higher you are listed the better, and you will do an awful lot better on the first page than on the second, but if the best you can do is page three then you are going to need a lot more than search engines to help you attract business.

So what are the main essentials of search engine marketing? You have two objectives, the first being to get listed and the second to reach the top 20. It is easy, as I stated earlier, to get listed on a search engine. Many design their site, submit it to Google and then wait for the Google Dance, when Google carries out its World Wide Web search for websites.

Forget that: do not submit your site to Google or any of the other search engines because that can delay your listing. Instead do one of two things. The best is to write a few articles on the topic of your website and submit them to the top article directories. If you can’t write, or if English is not your main language, then use an article ghostwriter. There are plenty people online offering article services at good rates.

Google and the rest frequently visit the higher ranked article directories and will pick up on the link to your website in your ‘author’s resource’, or bio. When they find your site, you get listed, and that can happen in less than 24 hours. That is the main way, but the other is blogs. Add a blog to your site, and it will soon be listed. Google, especially, likes blogs, particularly if it is a Blogger blog, since Blogger is owned by Google. You are virtually guaranteed a listing. If you are not too keen on Blogger, you can switch once your site has been listed. Wordpress is arguably the most versatile blogging software available at the moment, especially if you are running it from your own web space.

Once you are listed, you can improve your position by optimizing each website page for the topic of that page. Don’t forget that search engines list each page separately, and so each page should be optimized separately. However, you should initially focus on your index page, since it is that page which almost invariable gets listed highest. Once your site does have a reasonable high listing, it is possible that another page could get listed higher than your index page, although this is not generally the case.

You can then post a blog on the topic of the page, and add new postings on a regular basis. You should also include a link to your blog from your web pages and a link on your blog sidebar to your website. This will enhance the probability of your home web page being listed, as it also will your blog, since your blog can also be listed on Google and other search engines.

There are some simple things that you can do to make your index page more attractive to the search engines. Bear in mind that your listing is for one search term only, as used by someone seeking information related to the topic of your page. You can receive another listing for another search term (or keyword) on a different index. So, what you must do is to determine the best keyword for which to optimize your index page.

Once you have decided that, include it in the title of your page and place the title in ‘title’ tags. Try to make the title a bit longer than your keyword, so if your keyword is, say, ‘lock design’, make the title ‘The History of Lock Design’, for example. The main heading for the page need not be the same, but should also contain your keyword. A good heading, for example, would be ‘Lock Design from the 18th Century’. Place that in H1 tags to tell the search engine algorithm that the heading contains important text relating to your web page.

In order to accentuate the fact the ‘lock design’ is an important term in your web page, use it in the first 100 characters and again in the last paragraph of the page. You can also use it once for every 300 words if you want, but don’t overuse it. Use plenty of words that relate to the term, in order that the algorithm used to determine the relevance of your page can decide what the actual subject is. Hence, in the example used, it is still not clear if the locks referred to are canal locks or security locks. You should make that clear in the syntax of the page.

For example, your title could be changed to ‘Canal Lock Design from the 18th Century’, and you could make lots of reference to canals, barges, longboats, plan, construction, locks and design. These words will make it clear to the statistical mathematical formula that makes up the LSI (latent semantic indexing) algorithm that determines the meaning of the words used on your page, and determines that the page is about canal locks and not locks and keys.

There are many other ways in which you can optimize your web page to make it more relevant to the search term, and the more relevant the search engine deems it, then the higher the listing in the index for that specific keyword. Blogging can enhance the effect of your SEO, and not only improve your listing position, but also be listed itself, thus providing even more traffic to your website.

Search engine marketing involves a good knowledge of search engines and how they work, but if you get it right then the rewards can be very high in terms of traffic highly targeted to your product. The problem is, unless you know how, or have the right advice from people who know what they are talking about rather than trying to sell you a service, then it takes a long time to learn.

3. Choose software that will give you options for your keywords. The more keywords the software can give you the higher are your chances that you can find the best keywords for your business. That’s why before you purchase any keyword analyzer, make sure that it contains the features that you absolutely need when it comes to creating your ads.

4. Always test the credibility of your ads. Conduct an ad test to ensure that you can verify if your advertisements and even your keywords can generate their much-needed attention from your target market.

5. Check your landing page. This will be your webpage that can give you the highest returns for your business. It can be your product page or your homepage-it doesn’t really matter. However, make sure that this page is working effectively.
